<p>Roberta is currently an Artist in Residence in Jordan, at <a href="http://www2.artdubai.ae/en/Programmes/Start">Art Dubai&#8217;s START Program</a>.  START invited Roberta to stay in the “<a href="https://www.facebook.com/StartWorld?sk=wall">START House</a>” and volunteer her time in art workshops she has designed for refugee and disadvantaged children in Amman. The idea is to provide the children with creative learning opportunities which uplifts, inspires and promotes their unique expression.</p>

<p>This past November, Roberta partnered with<a href="http://www.getyourvoteon.ca/"> Get Your Vote On</a> to be the principle photographer for the campaign to get BC&#8217;s youth out to vote! Two exhibits will be group shows, the first at <a title="The Cultch" href="http://www.thecultch.com/" target="_blank">The Cultch</a> from 24 January to 13 February and then at <a title="Vancouver Darkroom Co-op" href="http://www.facebook.com/stephen.g.irving#!/profile.php?id=1009402429" target="_blank">Vancouver Darkroom Co-op</a> beginning on 5 February. These exhibits will be followed shortly thereafter by solo exhibits at <a title="Performance Works" href="http://www.performanceworks.ca/" target="_blank">Performance Works</a> from 15 February to 17 April followed by the <a href="http://www.jerichoartscentre.com/" target="_blank">Jericho Arts Centre</a> from 17 February to 20 March 2011. </p>
<p><span><span>Roberta Holden&#8217;s image &#8220;Opening Closed Doors I&#8221; has been selected for <a href="http://www.blueskygallery.org/" target="_blank">Blue Sky Gallery&#8217;s</a> 35th anniversary group exhibit at the Office of Mayor Sam Adams and</span></span> the lobby of the Newmark Theatre at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts<span><span> in Portland, Oregon, USA. </span></span>Both exhibitions will begin the first week of October and run for three months to coincide with <span>Blue</span> <span>Sky</span>&#8216;s 35th anniversary. </p>
<p><span><span>An image from Roberta Holden&#8217;s <a href="../studies-in-sea-ice/" target="_blank">Studies In Sea Ice</a> series has resulted in her being shortlisted for CIWEM&#8217;s <a href="http://www.ciwem.org/competition-and-awards/environmental-photographer/competition-details-2010.aspx" target="_blank">2010 Environmental Photographer of the Year Award</a>. Winners to be announced in September 2010.</span></span>
